Recently, this handsome little guy came to visit me for a complete first birthday shoot. A “complete” first birthday session (as opposed to just a Cake Smash) includes balloons, assorted backdrops and of course, cake! Gavin was the cutest little thing. One year olds are tricky. If they can walk, they are going to leave the backdrop numerous times. I usually tell Mom and Dad that they’re going to sweat. The shoot is fun for baby, good workout for Mom. ;) Gavin tried to escape the scene of the shoot quite a few times. LOL! He really did like his balloons though, so that worked out well. And he LOVED his cake. Some kids enjoy it, most kids are terrified of it and then you get one every so often that honestly loves it. Gavin loved it.
Gavin’s Mom, Jessica, put a lot of thought into the colors for his outfit and I just love them (the red & black storyboard below is one of my favorites to date!) I think the red and black paired with the guitar on his shirt were bold and fun. Great idea Jessica!

I hope you had a rockin’ first birthday Gavin!
p.s. Up next? More Blogged Cake Smash sessions! Also, today is the final day to comment HERE and try to win you or a loved one a FREE Cake Smash shoot in September! I’ll post the winner by week’s end. :)
