Beautiful little Giulia came to visit me back this late-Winter, but her session fell right before my Disney trip and I sadly missed Blogging her. Can’t let any more time go past without sharing this little sweet pea.
So, every once in a while, a newborn comes along and gives me a run for my money. I think this session hovered near 4 hours, many spent with Giulia in tears. It was rough. But look at these images ~ I don’t think you would know it! And I think it’s important to tell it like it is because so many times I get a wide awake, crying infant here and Mom and Dad apologize profusely. Trust me, it happens, and quite often at that. I’m not sweating it so you shouldn’t either. :) We’ll make it work.

And because I am fairly certain these were sent out already, Giulia’s birth announcement (clients, please e-mail me for pricing and details!)

Enjoy the day!

Ava was a dream baby. Once she settled in, she was down for the count which allowed me to pose her and test out some new hats and headbands. :) I love so many of these shots!
Welcome to the world Ava!

Have a sweet day!

Isabella holds the award for client that has traveled the furthest to see me. You’ll never believe this: she lives in Maryland! At just ten days old, Mom, Dad and Bella made the trip to Long Island and I had the honor of photographing them. Bella wasn’t a fan of being naked but I was clued in by Mom before our session date even rolled around so I made sure to take out lots of my wraps. She did love being wrapped, and we ended up with some adorable, snuggly shots.
Welcome to the world little lady!

Congratulation M family! Enjoy your little princess. :)

Gee. I am so behind on Blogging sessions. My apologies if you haven’t seen your little one up here yet. I try to get to everyone but sometimes being a mommy to three and life in general just gets in the way. :)
Today I am Blogging little Henry. What a gorgeous little guy! I photographed his older brother this Fall and seriously, both boys are beautiful! (remember his mohawk?) Thomas even showed up towards the end of our shoot (when I always recommend older siblings join us) to take some pictures with his little brother. Doesn’t he look proud?
Thanks for another wonderful session Vikki!

A quick note about contacting me and booking a session:
A) If you have recently sent a session inquiry and I haven’t written back, it’s because my kids are on Spring Break and my work time is limited. I won’t be returning e-mails completely until Monday April 16th. If you sent one a bit ago and feel like I may have missed responding, please do not hesitate to contact me again!
B) As of April 10th, I am completely booked for the rest of this month, May, June AND July. I am booking into August right now and only have limited newborn availability in September. Expecting? Please contact me ASAP!
Have a great day!

Anthony was a little dream. He came to visit me a few weeks ago and was such a good subject. C’mon and meet him!

This is my absolute *favorite* picture from our session. Something about the way his little lips are puckered… what a munchkin!

^ Mr. Tough Guy! ^

Nic, thanks again for bringing Anthony over for a shoot with me. I had a lot of fun. :) Enjoy your photos!

I had such a great time photographing baby Abigail. She was such a good baby plus her Mom crocheted some awesome props. Check out the turtle and bee set!
Stephanie & Justin, thanks so much for coming over to introduce me to Abby. Enjoy her!

Have a beautiful day!

Danica was a beautiful little lady who came to visit me a few weeks ago. Seriously, check out those full lips! I think she slept for nearly our entire session which was helpful.
Dad is a firefighter so we had to get a shot of her in his helmet (you may remember a before & after sneak peek I posted recently). I worked via e-mail with Danica’s Mom to create what ended up being a really cute and unique birth announcement. I don’t like to post those here in case they haven’t been sent out yet but lets just say it was the first red announcement I’ve ever created and had a fire truck and Dalmatian on it. So, so cute!
Thank again for bringing Danica over Kelly and Dan. It was a pleasure photographing her. Hope to see you guys again soon. :)
Here’s a little peek at Danica’s session.

p.s. I seriously love this shot. I had every intention of Photoshopping Dad’s arm out but there was something about his hand on her back. I had to leave it in.

I just love this shot in black and white too, so both are getting Blogged. ;)

Have a lovely day!

Last week I crocheted these two monster hats.

A day later, I had this set-up ready for a newborn.

And then, the finished product:

Cutest little monster I ever did see!
And I do so *love* seeing my vision come together. :)

I am kind of liking my Friday before & after posts. :) I am really happy with the way this photo turned out.
Abby, 7 days new, was photographed in my home this past Monday. I did a few shots on my deep plum textured blanket but it sort of photographed more brown than I originally intended. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things because the photo was still crystal clear and that’s what truly matters but 1) for this set of photos, Abby had nothing on her head such as a cutesy hat or flowered headband and 2) We had just finished a few shots on a fuzzy brown blanket. I wanted to make sure she looked like a little girl in the final shot and I am super-happy with how it worked out. :) Abby has the cutest heart-shaped lips so that helped.
The top two photos are “befores”. Mom’s arm was in the shot originally so I started this series after I already removed her arm and patched in some blanket. Other than that, no editing was done to the top-left picture. You can see Abby had splotchy skin. In the top-right photo, splotches were gently airbrushed and cloned out.
Between the top and bottom shots, I worked a bit on the blanket. I decided not to go crazy with the fading here and just gently added a textured mask and some solid color (on a very low opacity) to keep the focus on the front of the frame.
The bottom two shots are my “afters”. I decided to edit these particular photos with more of a blue hue to them to bring back some of the purple in the blanket. I went back with a fine-toothed comb and did some final tweaks to little red areas on her skin. I love the final coloring in the bottom-left photo and how beautiful and girly Abby looks. The blanket color changed pretty drastically but Abby’s skin is still creamy and soft. The bottom-right polished “after” is the same as the shot on the left but converted to black and white. I’m also digging the richness of the charcoal color the blanket gave off so I knew I had to include this edit as well.
What a scrumptious little peanut!

After a bunch of back-to-back newborn baby girls, I am looking forward to photographing a sweet lil’ boy this morning.
Have a beautiful day!
