In case you missed them, part 1 and part 2.
Day 17: Green
We had only gotten home from vacation late the night before but because it was St. Patrick’s Day, I had to bake something for the kids. That treat ended up being rainbow cupcakes topped with vanilla frosting, Lucky Charms and mini shamrock sprinkles.

Day 18: A Corner Of Your Home
The one and only toy corner in the living room. Everything else must either find a spot in the bedroom or go into the toyroom downstairs. This makes me happy.

Day 19: Funny
Grace and I ran a few errands today: grocery shopping with a side of Starbucks mainly. While using the Target bathrooms, her and I were hysterical over the hand dryers. They were so loud that we couldn’t hear each other screaming over them.

Day 20: Before & After
A perfect before & after! On the left is my set up as I waited for my cute little client to come for his shoot. On the right is how we used the cape and superhero-colored balloons. Love the way this turned out!

Day 21: Delicious
A decided to make myself a smoothie for breakfast. After some searching online and tweaking in the kitchen, I ended up with an Oatmeal Banana Strawberry breakfast smoothie that was quite delicious.

Day 22: Kitchen Sink
Kitchen sink mid dinner prep.

Day 23: Today
Today’s original prompt was pretty dumb considering it was “moon” …and there was no moon out tonight! Using my second list of prompts didn’t even help because uh, I didn’t care for a picture of waste. The only thing left to do was to just use a picture depicting something that happened today. It ended up being a great day actually. I delivered my Box Full Of Sunshine to my friend, got a haircut and then went on a date with my husband. We saw The Hunger Games.

Day 24: An Animal
Snuggle Puggle!

We’re in the homestretch now! And can I just say that I cannot believe it’s April in a few more days. Woah!
Have a great day!

I’m baaaaack. ;)
I thought I would share my next batch of challenge photos today. I love that these are Disney photos. :) I took 1,020 photos with my Nikon, a few dozen with my iPhone and there are over 250+ on our Photopass CD! I am looking forward to creating our vacation scrapbook but I know it’s going to take some time to edit and organize so many shots.
Day 10: Loud
The kids were watching the luggage load into our plane. We were on a 5pm outbound flight to Orlando.

Day 11: Someone I Talked To Today
Pretty cool!

Day 12: Solitary
I love taking pictures of the castle at night!

Day 13: A Sign
This was the first trip where Grace was tall enough to ride Splash Mountain. (You have to be 40″ and she is just about 42″). She. Loved. It! We rode it four times. During one of the times we splashed down, my husband said “Great. She’s bad (and by this we mean she’s our most mischievous, strong-willed child) AND she’s an adrenaline junkie!” LOL!

Day 14: Clouds
My girls were in the castle when I took this shot. :) They were getting makeovers from Fairy Godmothers-In-Training at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Day 15: Angular
We ate in one of my favorite restaurants today: San Angel Inn in Mexico. Our meals were all-around delicious!

Day 16: Sunglasses
My three cuties. See that faint pink mark on Andrew’s forehead? It’s lipstick. When he was 3, Sleeping Beauty planted a huge kiss on his cheek and left a kiss mark. This time around, we asked her if she remembered him. She took a quick glance in his autograph book and said “Andrew, of course I do!” She then asked if she could kiss him again. LOL! Sleeping Beauty has a thing for my little guy. ;)

I’m so tired. We got in a little after 10:30pm last night. The first thing I did was check the mail for my Nikon slip saying my camera was ready for pick-up (the mirror needed fixing. I took a rental to Disney World. And yes, it’s ready for pick-up on Monday. Yay!) Then I powered-up and hugged my iMac. ;) I really did that. Shhh. We shouldn’t tell too many people.
I couldn’t let today pass without doing something festive for the kids so I whipped-up some rainbow cupcakes topped with shamrock sprinkles and Lucky Charms. We had them with green milk.

My Mom dropped off a homemade Irish Soda Bread as an after dinner treat. And I played catch-up with the laundry. Thankfully it was a beautiful day out so I got to hang some of the laundry out on the line.
I think tonight I will finish my coffee and perhaps create a scrapbook page of my Disney iPhone shots. I’ll also edit some family shots from the Photopass CD. If you have under 700 shots on your disc, they now offer a download option. Awesome! I did that plus spent another $20 for the hard copy.
It’s good to be home and even better with tons of fun pictures to play with! :)

Lost? Check out February’s completed photo challenge (part 1, part 2).
Been here before? I’ll start in two seconds. I just wanted to share a cool site I stumbled upon.
As is pretty much apparent, I love to change photo prompts when I just don’t like the originals. I know. My rebellion knows no bounds. Sometimes I can’t get the shot for whatever reason and sometimes, I just think they are plain silly. I started looking for alternate March prompts and found this fun site. I like how the prompts are laid out with the dictionary descriptions. If you are also doing the challenge and realize my photos aren’t matching up, this is why. I probably swapped one in from this list. I did it with Day 3: Neighborhood. I’m not a big fan of deliberately putting a shot of my house or place I live out there so, I went with soil. :) I also did it with Day 4: Bedside. I chose food.
In the end, I want to be happy and excited with the final collection of photos and if that means using different or my own prompts, so be it. :)
Day 1: Up
Grace and I spent the afternoon at the library. She was building houses for the two Smurfette figures she brought along and I was choosing books for the other kids.

Day 2: Fruit
Our fruit bowl usually consists of apples, bananas and oranges.

Day 3: Soil
The bulbs in our front flower bed sprouted a few weeks ago! When we get back from vacation I’ll get outside to turn the soil and get rid of the little rocks.

Day 4: Food
Creamy Chicken Taquitos baking away- totally easy and so delicious!

Day 5: Smile
Emily post dental check-up. What a timely prompt. :) Both older kids got great reports. No cavities!

Day 6: 5pm
I felt like all I did was run around today. After dropping Emily off at lacrosse practice, I went back to my Mom’s house to pick-up Andrew and Grace. Grace was inside playing Memory with Nanny.

Day 7: Something I Wore
My sparkly flats. My son calls these my “Jasmine shoes”. I think if he’s going to make claims like that that I should totally be rich, live in a palace and travel by magic carpet.

Day 8: Window
Waiting for my frappuccino and mini cherry pie (so delish!) to come out of the Starbucks window.

Day 9: Red
The one lone red rose in the bouquet my husband surprised me with the other day.

I’m looking forward to taking the next 7 photos in Disney!
PLEASE NOTE: I AM AWAY ON VACATION AND WILL HAVE LIMITED INTERNET ACCESS. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING NEW CLIENT INQUIRIES, GENERAL E-MAILS AND PLACING LAB ORDERS UNTIL MONDAY MARCH 19TH.
“See” you soon!

I have completed the February Photo Challenge! Part 1′s set of photos (February 1st-14th) were Blogged HERE. Here is my 2nd set.
This time around, I swapped-out two prompts. :) For one, I actually took the picture, but it was pointless to me and not something I wanted in my album. On the 24th we were supposed to take a photo inside our bathroom cabinet. I took two actually, but again, silly. So I swapped it out for a picture of our Puggle patiently waiting her turn at the vet. I thought that was cute. I also never got around to photographing handwriting which seems easy enough but it was something I had done with the November challenge. I ended up with a really good picture of some blueish black clouds while the kids and I were running errands so I used that (20th).
If you are interested in starting your own photo project, you can find a list of fun March prompts HERE. Are you on Instagram? If so look for me there under the very clever, very tricky name of: ginamiller =P I know. My creativity knew no bounds on that one.
One quick tip I can offer is this: do a quick screenshot of the monthly photo prompts so you have them stored on your phone. You aren’t going to remember what each prompt is at a moment’s notice so this is a good way to have them handy and be able to check on the go. I screenshot them on my iPad too, just in case the daily photo is something I can capture on there (February’s Day 26 comes to mind…)
Day 15: Phone
iPhone on my iPad actually. :)

Day 16: Something New
New yarn for some baby hats.

Day 17: Time
I waited all day for this specific time to roll around. 3:25pm ~ the time my kids’ school lets out and subsequently, the start of a gloriously week off for Winter Break!

Day 18: Drink
Daily dose.

Day 19: Something You Hate To Do
It’s not so much that I hate doing laundry (I hate when these baskets start to fill up however…) I just hate how often I have to do it.

Day 20: Sky
Really deep, dark black clouds with blue skies ahead.

Day 21: Favorite Photo Of You
Taken April 12th 2003. Obviously, our wedding day. This was taken right on the water and it was so windy!

Day 22: Where I Work
Well, this is part of my “office”. :) If I am not shooting, I am either A- editing pictures here B- designing graphics here or C- probably wasting an obscene amount of time on Facebook or Pinterest. When interrogated, I will tell you I am doing lots of A & B.

Day 23: My Shoes
I had no idea that when I took this shot, the daily prompt was ‘shoes’. It was breezy but nice out so I decided to go outside for a run.

Day 24: Pet
In the rain, the kids and I brought Sadie to the vet for updated shots. Here she sits, patiently waiting…

Day 25: Green
Our house is pretty crazy over the Muppets. I couldn’t believe that I found a really cute Kermit doll on Ebay for $3.99. Even though we already have a Kermit, I knew I had to buy him. He came shipped in the box just like this.

Day 26: Night
My new book. Not for the faint of heart…!

Day 27: Something I Ate
Broiled grapefruit.

Day 28: Money
A stack of bills sitting in my drawer that I need to give to my parents. Usually the Christmas before a Disney trip, my brothers and I chip-in and book a nice meal for my parents sans kids during our vacation. This year they have a reservation at California Grill.

Day 29: Listening To…
What I always put on during a newborn shoot. Today’s shoot lasted 4 hours so I listened to this on repeat. A lot.

And now for my fave, fave, fave part of a photo project: compiling the shots all together (this was the best part of doing P365 in 2009 & 2010)! This is a 12×12 and will go into my Project Life album.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Posted on February 14, 2012
You may remember when I did my iPhone/Instagram photo challenge back in November (you can find those entries HERE). I had a lot of fun with the project and loved my collection of photos at the end of the month. I am doing another project for the month of February and as always, allowing myself to tweak the prompts as necessary. For the most part, I am following Fat Mum Slim’s list of prompts which can be found HERE. I am breaking up my posts on the Blog into two entries: February 1st-14th and the 15th-29th. In this first time frame, I swapped three prompts: the 4th, 8th and 12th. I don’t need another shot of the inside of my closet (it was in the November prompts), I mostly don’t enjoy taking photos of the sun with my iPhone and I have no interest in taking a picture of a stranger. I have relabeled my daily prompts below. :)
I am looking forward to creating a simple page featuring all 29 photos at the end of the month. It will go into my Project Life album.
Day 1: My View
Slight cheat. This was taken on the 31st of January. It was my view after a 2 1/2 hour newborn shoot which is actually great time! I love when I am all done shooting, all of my blankets, baskets, hats and other props have been put away (takes a good while!) and I can just sit and breathe for a few minutes. Newborn shoots can be stressful because you don’t know how baby is going to like being moved and how sleepy they are going to be. I definitely breathe a sigh of relief and de-stress when I wrap one up.

Day 2: Words
A really cute poem Grace came from from school with. It was attached to a pink paper mug of hot chocolate and there was a packet of cocoa taped to the back.

Day 3: Hands
My son writing out his spelling homework. Only when I took this did I realize just how he holds his pen. I tried telling him it looked really uncomfortable but I am not one to talk. I hold my pen totally wrong and have really neat handwriting. We are always complimenting him on his handwriting so I am leaving this alone.

Day 4: Rainbow
Gracie can always be found walking around with her chunky beads on.

Day 5: 10am
Mmm…. Trix!

Day 6: Dinner
Homemade pizza rolls using dough straight from the pizzeria. So, so good!

Day 7: Button
My Bee, sitting unused after a shoot.

Day 8: Soft
We have tons of sock monkeys in this house! This traditionally colored one is Andrew’s.

Day 9: Front Door
Sparkly heart!

Day 10: Self Portrait
Self-explanatory. :)

Day 11: Makes Me Happy
Books! Although nowadays, I’ve been reading most of my books via iBooks or my Kindle app. This is the stack I keep on my nighttable: always the 4 Twilight books (thicker, yellowed ones) and that is The Hunger Games on the top.

Day 12: Routine
For someone who used to always owe at least $15 in late fines per library trip, we sure have been going there a lot lately! Grace and I have a new routine: at least twice a week we visit the library. She plays while I search for books for the kids. This is Grace’s current stack. We are on a pig family kick; creepy books from when I was a kid that contain a bad wolf.

Day 13: Blue
Emily’s backpack after school. I thought the rainbow sticker was cute. :)

Day 14: Heart
Stitched 1″ paper heart garland I’ve been using in a few shoots.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
30 day photo challenge | part 6 of 6

I did it! I completed my 30 day gratitude project with only a few minor cheats. ;) A few times I used a Nikon pic instead of one taken with my iPhone (all pics were processed with Instagram though). And on 28 of the 30 days, I followed the exact prompts. Two prompts I changed and both were this last week. I changed the “transportation” prompt to “friends” because well, transportation meant little to me as far as this project goes. And today should be a self portrait but again, this is a series of images of things I am grateful for and posting a photo of myself seemed weird. =P I really wanted to end with a photo of family and the most recent I had was one taken by Sarah Cornish during my My Four Hens photo shoot in Connecticut a few weeks ago. So yeah, I reallllly pushed the limits on photo 30 of 30 but, it was the perfect way to end this project. :)
Day 26: Friends
My friend and I took our kids to the movies to see Arthur Christmas. It was really funny!

Day 27: Daily Routine
Of course, Buddy the Elf is a major part of our daily routine around here for the holidays! On this particular day, the kids found him buried in the candy bowl. It appears that Buddy favors Kit Kats. Smart elf.

Day 28: Nighttime
I was looking outside my living room window and saw this magnificent sky as the sun was setting. I even caught a plane flying past.

Day 29: Lights
My husband hung the Christmas lights during the day and then my Dad helped him finish them off at night. I was teaching Andrew how to take a night time photo that was unfocused, thus creating some awesome Christmas light bokeh!

Day 30: Family
“Dear God, Thank you for giving me everything I prayed for as a little girl. -Gina”

Once again, credit for the above photo (which I then Instagrammed a bit!) goes to My Four Hens photography. Love it!
Here are all 30 of my daily shots together!

Thanks for following along with my 30 day photo project!
And in keeping with the gratitude theme and wrapping-up the month of November, here’s a new layout I finished last night.
Prayer For My Children

Credits can be found in either my LilyPad or 2Peas gallery.
Now to decide how I am going to document December!
Have a wonderful day!

In the home stretch now… I can’t wait to collage all of these daily shots! Next entry. :)
Day 21: Where You Sleep
Nothing too exciting. It’s just a bed. But it does feel pretty amazing on a cold night with flannel sheets on it!

Day 22: Clothing
My boots.

Day 23: In Your Closet
Shirts hung in color order and then sub-categorized by sleeve length. Please tell me I am semi-normal?

Day 24: Gratitude
My babies. What more can I say?

Day 25: Artwork
All three of my kids are wonderful artists but Andrew is especially amazing. He can just draw stuff right from his head. This 1st Thanksgiving drawing is perfect to showcase this month.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Day 16: Animals
Our Puggle doesn’t get much air time so here she is, in all of her little squishy-faced, black & white snout glory. Sadie.

Day 17: Memories
I was going through old photos and stopped on this one. The kids, nearly exactly two years ago.

Day 18: Something New
Vin’s new car.

Day 19: Best Friend
I decided to pluralize this and showcase my three little BFFs today. <3

Day 20: Seasonal
Gotta love all-things Starbucks at Christmas time! I took this at the rest stop on the way home from Pennsylvania. Well, correction. I asked Vin to snap it so I wouldn’t lose my place in the very long line.

Playing catch-up before we leave for an out-of-town-wedding in Pennsylvania. In case you missed my earlier posts, part one is HERE and part two is HERE.
Day 11: Something Old
Quite literally, something very old! My Grandma, age 92. :)

Day 12: Hands
I am so, so, so thankful for my job and all of the people I get to photograph and meet. I am extra-thankful that people trust me to capture their babies at just days old.

Day 13: Written Words
I have this thing about saving my Grandma’s cards just in case I don’t get to see her signature for much longer (morbid thought, but truthful). I may throw away an old card if a new one comes. This was my birthday card from her this year.

Day 14: Movement
My friend Robyn came over with her son today and brought Grace an adorable tutu, legwarmer and glittery wing set. Grace lived in the wings for the rest of the day. It was easy to get a picture of movement today, with all of the twirling she was doing throughout the house.

Day 15: Technology
I’m an Apple geek. I love my MAC, my iPhone, our iPods… What would I do without all of this awesomeness to play with each and every day?! Oh and I love Santa’s sneaky little face in the corner of the picture.

Please remember that my calendar is completely booked for the remainder of the year (I only mention this now because I am still getting daily requests for Christmas pictures and it’s so hard to turn people away, but it’s a must at this point). If you need to reach me to inquire about a future session, you can use the contact form HERE. Just remember that I am out-of-town this weekend so I won’t be returning e-mails until Monday at the earliest.
Happy weekend! What are YOU thankful for these last few days?

If you missed installment one, you can find my photos HERE.
Day 6: Books
These are some of the books stacked on my night table. I bought Water For Elephants at least 8 months ago but didn’t get around to starting it until recently. I’ve read about 1/3 so far and then cheated and watched the movie.

Day 7: Something Funny
When I run, I always, always, always carry Chapstick with me in the pouch of my water bottle. I have to have smooth lips. I was heading into mile 6 today and looking for a quick re-apply when I opened my zippered pouch and found …a bottle of perfume from Justice! One guess at who was playing with her sister’s perfume and my running gear.

Day 8: Favorite Color
Pink, of course! Today was my birthday actually. I treated myself to a Banana Berry smoothie with whey protein after my 5 mile run.

Day 9: Inspiring Person
I can think of many people who could be showcased here but for today, I chose my husband. Not everyone could do what he does. :)

Day 10: Nature
So many colors on the trees, so little time left. The leaves are falling every second and branches are becoming bare. I took this shot during a run.
